Un quatrième sacre pour les New York Giants en Football américain
Les New York Giants ont remporté à Indianapolis la 46e édition du Superbowl. Ils ont battu par 21-17 les New England Patriots.
Après leurs titres en 1987, 1991 et 2008, les Giants remportent la finale de la NFL : le Superbowl pour la quatrième fois.
Ahmad Bradshaw a inscrit le touchdown qui a permis aux Giants de mener 21-17 à 57 secondes de la fin du match.
Le quaterback des Patriots Tom Brady, qui visait une quatrième victoire à l’occasion de son cinquième Superbowl, n’a rien pu faire contre la stratégie des drives mise en place par le coach des Giants et la précision millimétriques des torpilles de Eli Manning le quaterback qui a même été désigné MVP (Most Valuable Player) du match .
il est à noter que Eli Manning avait déjà mené les Giants vers la victoire il y a quatre ans,
alors que son frère Peyton Manning, également quaterback, avait conduit les Colts d’indianapolis, (stade où se jouait la finale cette année…) à la victoire en 2007 et avait été élu MVP également.
Une belle constance dans la famille.
