Wait a minute baby…
Stay with me awhile
Said you’d give me light

But you never told be about the fire…
(suite Paroles – Lyrics)

[quote]

I wrote Sara on the piano, by myself. The original Sara was 16 minutes long. …

I knew that Sara would be very popular because I loved writing that song. I’ve had more fun writing that…I remember the night I wrote it. ‘I sat up with a very good friend of mine whose name is Sara, who was married to Mick Fleetwood.  She likes to think it’s completely about her, but it’s really not completely about her.

It’s about me, about her, about Mick, about Fleetwood Mac. Its about all of us at that point. There’s little bits about each one of us in that song and when it had all the other verses it really covered a vast bunch of people. Sara was the kind of song you could fall in love with,
Mick … was the ‘great dark wing’. And, ah, it was about everything that was going on at that particular time, too, but he was the, the reason for the, you know, the beginning of it.

[end quote]
Stevie Nicks, MTV Fanatic, 1998

I’ve always liked Stevie a lot since I heard her voice for the first time, long time ago…
Her characteristic voice… that voice… haunting mystical tunes….. her very spiritual music, as I said she’s like no one else…
She’s made up of this magical soul essence that pours out of her when she performs.
When I feel depressed her voice always puts me in a good mood…
the intensity of her gaze, her charisma, her songs truly speak to your heart, there is no equal for pure emotion in music.
Also the lyrics to her songs are simply mystical :
*you’re the poet in my heart* or * Drowning in the sea of love, Where everyone would love to drown
*   seems directly came from the Angels…

Funny how stories are told about Sara…so many of them!
The song « Sara » was 16 min. long, Stevie wrote it in one night.
Sara was written about a few people in Stevie’s life at that point, not only about Sara Recor herself.

Sara was married to Jim Recor, Stevie had an affair with Jim during the ‘Rumours’ tour in 77.
Stevie and Sara had not met at that time, they became very good friends and they stayed very close even when Sara discovered the truth, their friendship was unbreakable.
Sara is so to speak the Stevies Muse,…
    – ‘But when you build your house, then, call me home’ she is referring to Don Henley,
    – ‘And it was just like a great dark wind’ refers to Mick,
    – ‘The laces, undoing the laces.’ refers to Micks shoes.

My favourite song, gives me chills every time I hear it.
